Sections
Sections indicated as Online Learning (Override) Yes will have blank course shells created on Canvas.
- If your school is using the Scheduling Wizard, new Section IDs are being generated and new courses are being created on Canvas
- Previous courses are being disabled and teachers no longer have access
- Every new Section ID (marked with Online Learning (Override) Yes) creates a new course in Canvas
- Sections need to have Periods in order for that data to transfer to Infinite Campus.
- Class Names in Canvas are initially set up as with the Course Name and the Section ID that is used in IC, schools can change Course Names.
Students
Student accounts are getting created automatically on Canvas.
- Username is their 10-digit Student ID
- The Email is their '10-digit Student ID'@k12.hi.us.
- Users on Canvas can add additional emails for notification.
- Users on Canvas can change their password at any time.
Enrollments
Teachers and students associated with the Sections in Infinite Campus are being added to courses in Canvas automatically.
- If a student is dropped from the course on Infinite Campus, their enrollment in the course will be 'inactive'.
