Copy Master Course Content

This process is to copy content on a course-by-course basis. If you are preparing for the upcoming year/semester, we can assist you with a bulk course copy process, please email hvln@k12.hi.us.


  • Click on Admin in the global navigation menu.
  • Click on your school account.
  • Search for the course that you want to copy content into.
  • Click on the Course.
  • Click on Import Existing Content.
  • IMPORTANT: VERIFY THAT THE COURSE IS BLANK BEFORE DOING THIS PROCESS. COPYING CONTENT MULTIPLE TIMES WILL RESULT IN OVERWRITING EXISTING CONTENT THAT WILL REQUIRE MANUAL CLEAN UP.
  • Under Import Content, select Content Type: Copy a Canvas Course.

  • Enter the Course ID or Course Name from the HVLN HOT Canvas Course Key https://bit.ly/canvas_master.
  • Choose the Course that populates based on the ID.



  • Choose All content or Select specific content.
  • If you select specific content, you will need to wait for the import to run before you can select content.
  • Click Import.

  • The job queues in the Current Jobs section. It will display Completed when the job is done.
