Breakout Rooms (while in Google Meet)

In a Google Meet meeting, click the Activities icon  > click Breakout rooms from the menu 

Note: You must be the host in order to create breakout rooms. 

Google Meet will assign participants randomly to the rooms by default. To customize:

Drag participant names to different rooms.

Use the "Cancel changes" button to start fresh and manually assign participants.

Once rooms are set, click Open rooms to send participants to their assigned breakout spaces.

Participants will receive a prompt to join their breakout room.
