Canva on Canvas for Teachers

Teachers can seamlessly create, share designs, and set up assignments within your Canvas course using your Canva for Education account.

From your Canvas course, navigate to any area with a Rich Content Editor where you would like to insert a Canva product. (Pages, Assignments, Quizzes, Discussions, or Announcements.) Click on the *External Tool* icon > select *Canva for Education. Note: If this is your first time using Canva for Education, click on View All, then select Canva for Education*. You may be prompted to sign into Canva. Follow the instructions to set up your Canva for Education account using your DOE account.
Once Canva launches, click *+ Create a design* or *select a design* you already created. (Note: If you have already created a design in a personal Canva account
If you create a new design, once finished, click *Publish to Canvas.*
Choose between *embed* your Canva design directly in Canvas or just *share as a link*.
Select whether you would like students to just *View design only* or view as a *New design for each student*. This will function like a "template" which creates an editable copy of the design for each student.
Add appropriate details depending on the type of product you are creating (Assignment, Pages, Announcement, Discussion, Quiz) > *Save* as a draft or *Save & Publish. Note: When creating Assignments requiring students to create a Canva product, in Submission Type, select Online* > select *Website URL* > then click *Save* to save as a draft or *Save & Publish* to finish setting up the assignment.
