Overview In this article, learn how to view folders to which you have Viewer or Creator access, how to navigate within folders, and how to access a folder’s Settings. Prerequisites- Creator access to Panopto

- Viewing Folders
- From the left-hand navigation, the following tabs allow you to access your folders (Fig. 1).
- My Folder: This folder contains your personal Panopto videos and folders.

Viewing folders in Subscriptions: Select the Subscriptions tab from the left-hand navigation. To view only the folders that you subscribe to, make sure the Folders checkbox is selected, but that the People and Tags checkboxes are deselected. The folders do not appear, but a video's parent folder is listed underneath the video title (Fig. 3)

Viewing folders in Browse: Select Browse from the left-hand navigation. There are two tabs in Browse: All Folders, which displays all of the folders you have Viewer or Creator access to, and My Folders, which shows a list of folders you own (Fig. 4a). To search for a specific folder, use the Search all folders… toolbar (Fig. 4b) To expand a folder and see its subfolders, select the dropdown icon to its left (Fig. 4c). To keep the Browse menu open at all times, select the pushpin icon in the upper right corner of the menu (Fig. 4d).

You can customize your view using the top toolbars. The main toolbar allows you to return to the parent folder by selecting the up arrow; Refresh the folder; change the view of a folder as explained in 1.2.a.- 1.2.c, below; Filter by date; and Show scheduled recordings (Fig. 5a). The secondary toolbar allows you to sort videos by Name, Duration, Date, and Rating (Fig. 5b). Note: If you have Creator rights to a folder, a recording icon, which looks like a red dot, will appear in the lower right-hand corner of the folder icon. For Admins, this will only appear in the folder view, and not in the Browse area.

- Creating Folders
- From the Create button: Expand the Create menu and select New Folder (Fig. 7).

In the Create Folder window that appears, provide the folder with a Name and Description, and if applicable, select a Parent folder. Then select Create Folder (Fig. 8). Optionally, you can select Inherit permissions from the parent folder if you are creating a subfolder and would like the subfolder to share the same level of permissions as its parent folder. - On the Overview tab, you can edit the folder’s name, parent folder and description (Fig. 10). You can also create an assignment folder, which is a special subfolder that allows users that can view this folder to create and submit sessions privately.

On the Share tab, you can get the folder’s direct link or embed code, change the sharing permissions, or invite people (Fig. 11).

On the Settings tab, edit your Viewers’ permissions, enable special features, and control the dates of when the folder and its videos are available (Fig. 12)

- Moving a Folder
From the folder's Settings: On the Overview tab, accessed by following steps 3.1. and 3.2. above, select the Edit link located to the right of the Parent folder (Fig. 16a). Then select the new parent folder from the dropdown menu that appears and click Save (Fig. 16b).

- From the Browse menu: Drag and drop a folder to move it into another folder (Fig. 17).
- Note: If you drag a folder to the blank area at the bottom of the Browse menu, you can make it a
top-level folder.
